Many songwriters try and determine if their work is good as they are writing, and often give up on the song.<br /><br />The best thing is to reserve your judgment and just keep writing the song. <br /><br />Wait until it is finished, then show it to someone for their opinion. Make sure this person is not too close a friend (or they will just tell you it's good so as not to hurt your feelings). But make sure this person does have a good taste of music too!<br /><br />Even if you do write something that is pretty bad, it is still a positive because you were at least writing. (That a classical training is necessary).
